Hypermobilty Resource Page

This page is meant for anyone who’s looking for information/helpful resources regarding living with hypermobility. Living with symptomatic hypermobility is a long journey, and I hope this page makes your journey just a little more straightforward and easeful.

Please note:

1) Any educational resources on specific conditions will contain external links to resources by medical professionals in this field, and will not be information generated by myself.  It is important to get your information from professionals who are appropriately trained and qualified to talk about these complex conditions.

2) Nothing here is a substitute for medical advice. This page is merely to provide easier links to helpful resources, so you can find the help you are seeking from the appropriate medical specialties / professionals. It should not be used to make decisions with regards to your diagnosis or treatment, without consulting your doctor.

This is just a list of things I’ve personally found helpful along the way, from one zebra to another!

Green = Singapore

[Note: It is not a substitute for medical advice, nor an absolute recommendation. If you are unsure if a particular item may be useful for you, please discuss it with your own care team! There’s never blanket advice for hypermobile bodies.

Also, supplements will NOT be included here, as that is a conversation to have with your own healthcare team.]

UK Amazon Storefront

There's are multiple lists of products which are catergorised based on the issues they are for: eg.
- heat intolerance
- hand support & pain relief
- noise sensitivity
- strengthening/exercise props
etc.

Most are items I have personally tried before. Sometimes when they exact item I used is no longer available, I would include a substitute item from another brand, which offers the same item type/design.

LOOP earplugs

These are perfect for those with noise sensitivity, or get overstimulated easily. There are a range of options to choose from, depending on how much noise reduction you want.

I personally feel most comfortable with some background noise- so I use the Engage earplugs. It dulls down background sounds, but still allows you to hear direct conversations. I personally can hear announcements att the airport too haha, so its perfect to me.

PLUG TUGS (UK)

For hand pain/instability:
This has been an absolute gamechanger- with these plug tugs, I can pull the plug out easily with just one hand now (whereas it would normally take both hands + a lot of force).

I personally use these around my entire room.

INSTANT ICE PACKS (UK)

For heat intolerance / management:
I love this particular one from the UK because it much friendlier for unstable hands/wrists! You just need to fold the ice pack down, and the bag inside will burst easily (this is how you "activate" it to make it cold).
Most other brands will need you to hit the ice pack with a significant amount of force to "activate it".

CMC Push Metagrip (Thumb)

Its supportive but still allows you full range of motion. I personally find it really helpful to prevent a flare from escalating 🙂

CMC Push Metagrip

WriStable Wrist Brace

This brace allows for full functional range of motion, even in handstands! I personally use it for handstands to allow me to train productively during flares, as I struggle with carpal instability in my wrist.
